My sister has a pair of gerbils and they got out yesterday. I saw them in her room and I thought she had mice at first, but then this lil' furry brown face peeked out and I recogninzed Fred. Gerbil #1. I called for Liza and she came down with my parents to try to catch the rodents. Me and my dad had Fred pinned under the bed, but he ran out to the living room and hid under the couch. Windel (gerbil #2) was under the pool table and then he ran to the table where the cages were.
Eventually we caught them with gerbil food for bait and the top of a CD stacker thingy. You know, like the one that all the blank CDs come in when you buy about 50 of them? Yeah, that thing.
Well, we caught the gerbils under that and then scooped them up on a half used notebook and put them in their travel cage.
It was quiet and adventure.
Then this morning my parents went to town and bought the gerbils a new cage and a replacement part for the one they chewed a hole in. Them gerbils can squeeze thr0ugh some tiny holes. (You're welcome, Mr.B.) My sister and I put the cages back together and popped tubes into place. The gerbils are having a wonderful time eating wood chips.
Yay Frindle! That's what the gerbils are called collectively. Either that or Wed. I like Frindle, personally.
---- I'd skip to the end. The hardest part.
